Charlene Benefiel, LPC

THERAPIST

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience helping individuals
heal from trauma and move toward a more fulfilling life. I specialize in trauma recovery
and have a strong background in supporting clients through a wide range of challenges
including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, personality disorders, and complex life
transitions.

In addition to trauma-focused work, I also provide support for relationship
concerns—including couples therapy, navigating divorce, co-parenting, and custody-
related issues. I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and across various
age groups, tailoring care to each individual's needs.

My approach is person-centered, strength-based, and grounded in trauma-informed
care. I utilize evidence-based techniques to promote healing and growth, drawing from
positive psychotherapy and other proven interventions. My goal is to create a validating,
supportive space where clients feel safe exploring their challenges and empowered to
create lasting change.

I currently offer mental health services virtually, providing flexibility and accessibility to
those I serve.

I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Waynesburg University,
where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Social Science and a minor in
Psychology, and later earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with honors.

My passion for helping others is deeply personal—rooted in the support I once received
during my own struggles. This fuels my commitment to specialize in PTSD and trauma
recovery, and to help my clients reconnect with meaning, happiness, and purpose in
their lives. I strive to help individuals make meaningful connections between their past
experiences, current behaviors, and future goals.
